I've always been that person who chose freedom over the "safe path." While everyone else was climbing corporate ladders, I got a Tourism diploma and spent my twenties collecting experiences instead of promotions.

Six-month summer seasons at a naturist vacation center in Europe. Six months in London. Backpacking through Mexico with barely any Spanish. Road-tripping across Europe with my husband. Getting lost in New York City.

I wasn't checking off some bucket list. I was just choosing adventure over security every single time.

Then 2020 happened.

Our marketing agency in tourism and hospitality tanked. Suddenly, we were scrambling—trying every side hustle we could think of just to survive.

Our bank account was definitely not thrilled about it. Hello, shiny object syndrome. If it promised to make money online, we tried it.

That's when Notion kept showing up as a way to organize all the mess we had.

I tried to understand it. Got overwhelmed. Dropped it. Came back. Got frustrated. Dropped it again. This happened more times than I'd like to admit.

But finally, I forced myself to actually sit down and build something. I started with the most basic templates—literally just collections of pages. Nothing fancy. Nothing impressive.

But slowly, piece by piece, I started seeing what this tool could actually do. The lightbulb finally went off, and I understood the true potential hiding under the surface.

I started creating real templates. They sold. People actually used them and got results. The 12 Week Year Planner started gaining momentum.

I had something real.

And then I killed it.

Life happened. I took a full-time job back at the naturist center—my first and only 9-to-5, the same place I'd worked summers years ago. I genuinely thought I could juggle both the job and the business.

I couldn't.

Big responsibility. Exhausting seasons. By the end of each day, I had nothing left for my business. The templates just sat there. The momentum I'd built? Gone.

The irony wasn't lost on me: I'd created a planner to beat procrastination, and there I was, postponing my own dreams.
